“Sick People Are Profit Generators”

Irrational drug prescribing, kickbacks for doctor referrals, unnecessary tests and surgical procedures are standard across the board. Big Pharma has higher profit margins than any other industry. The cost of cancer drugs can cost $100,000 or more for just a single year of treatment. Type 1 and 2 diabetes costs can range between $531-$5,264. Even “insured patients pay thousands of dollars out of pocket. Drug company profiteering is also on display when it comes to off-label prescriptions, which accounts for nearly 20% of all prescriptions, bringing in $40 billion in sales annually. Between 2007 and 2018, sticker prices on some 600 brand-name drugs rose by an average of 159%, or roughly 9.1% per year. The list of Big Pharma fraudulent practices includes false claims to government health care programs, intent to defraud or mislead, and failure to report safety data. It’s clear the industry’s huge profit margins directly correlate with its unsavory business practices.

Pfizer alone expects to sell $15 billion worth of Covid-19 vaccines this year, and earn between $59 billion and $61 billion, up from $42 billion it made in 2020. With the exclusion of the vaccine, Pfizer expects its sales to grow 6% in 2021. BioNTech is expected to profit $15 billion by the end of this year, with a profit margin of nearly 30%. Moderna, $16 billion. AstraZeneca, $1.9 billion. Johnson & Johnson, $10 billion. Merck, $10 billion. But that’s not the end of it, oh no; Covid shots may seem free now, but you’ve been paying for those seemingly free shots with your taxes, but what happens when you’re told it’s time for your $50 booster shot?

Vitamin’s, herbs and healthy food does not make Big Pharma and the 1% revenue.
